Welcome to the new blog!
Oh, wasn't Stepping Up awesome?!
Can you believe it's December already? Christmas! YAY!
Ilona has graciously offered her home for our Stepping Up/Christmas celebration on December 14... Can't wait to see you all there!
Melanie and I are doing some planning for January, getting some dates finalized for new Women's Bible Studies beginning in the New Year...
I have a couple of questions, if I could have your feedback (click COMMENTS at the end of the post, not the envelope, but the word COMMENTS) and let me know what you'd like to see. Melanie's planning a morning study of 10 Smart Things Every Woman Should Know. (I don't know or do any of these smart things, so that disqualifies me from teaching them-- hahaha... no, just wanting to offer an alternate study! But I am undecided!)
Questions for you evening Bible studiers:
1. Beth Moore, or not Beth Moore, that's the question! :) I want us to study God's Word, and your study feedback said that you like her and the fact that it's Bible study.
2. If so Beth Moore, will you be ready for the homework in the coming New Year? I was not able to look at the Esther book of Beth Moore today when I went to the bookstore, but I looked at her study of John, The Beloved Disciple, and it looked a little lighter than Stepping Up or David, though I could be wrong!
3-6. What about reading the Max Lucado book, A Cast of Characters, and doing the discussion questions at the back of the chapters? It looked good, but is it too light? Not enough Bible reading? (and there's no video for this.) I LOVED the book He Chose the Nails, and there's a workbook and DVD for it, too... but have you all read this one?
Let me know!
Jen :)

I like the idea of doing another Beth Moore study and the Beloved Disciple sounds like a great one to do. I think it is great when we do a study that makes us search the scriptures and meditate on what they say.
If no one else is interested in doing Beth Moore again, I am fine with doing whatever the others wish to do. I am just thrilled to be able to get together to study and discuss God's Word with such an awesome group of women!
I've been wanting to do Beth Moore, too! I miss studying already! I've been thinking about maybe saving Cast of Characters for summer, maybe as a book club instead of Bible study.
I talked to Garry Firth's mom today, who works at the bookstore, and she says that they just got Esther in, and it looks beautiful... so now I am leaning Esther! :)
I met Gary's mom on Friday night at the bookstore but did not introduce myself. I saw that they had the Esther study in.
I bought myself Beth Moore's workbook Believing God as I wanted something to do over the holidays. It is a hard one to do without seeing the video as they keep referring back to the introduction video. I am trying to do it anyway. I need to have something to keep me studying.
Every time I try to post a comment, my internet disconnects! Hhhmmmm. What I was wanting to say was Way to go Anna!! I was delighted to read your poem and great to see you were so moved.
Please all pray for new people to join us in the New Year!
See you on Sunday, Melanie
I would like a BEth Moore "lite"...as I have trouble giving her studies the time required. Also, I like to meditate on what I've learned, but I am so focused on getting the homework done, that I can't process all the deep insights.
Maybe we could do re-run:) I love the venue and our group, not to mention the licorice:). I miss you all already!
